PARIVARTAN - Women's Development Cell (WDC)
PARIVARTAN, the college Women's Development Cell, is a forum for debate and discussion on gender-related issues. It organizes film shows, workshops and other events on issues such as gender stereotyping, discrimination and violence. The Society provides the services of a trained counselor. A primary objective of the Society is to create an atmosphere free of gender discrimination on the campus. The Forum's most striking feature throughout the year is the bi-weekly meetings on various issues related to gender, for example sexual violence, harassment, socialization, patriarchy, femininity, masculinity and so forth. These meetings prove to be very engaging and productive in terms of developing an opening to understand the processes more deeply through discussions wherein everyone participates. The Forum also organizes a specialized closed -group workshop for the members on the issues of gender-based violence.
